Richard Cuffari - Illustrator

Richard Cuffari (1925-1978) was one of the most prolific illustrators in the 1970's for children's and young adult novels.  Here is a gallery of some of his book covers (he illustrated around 200 books).  He is one of my favorite artists and I'll read pretty much anything with a Cuffari cover.  If anyone knows anything about this artist's life, please share it with me.

  1. I love your blog. I am a huge reader, especially of vintage children and young adult books. I feel kind of guilty about this and im not completely sure you could or would want to help me. I'm desperately looking for an old young adult book from the 1970s or very late 1960s. It was about a young couple who must have been at least 18 or 19 that get married. The book starts with them sitting around a dining room table, telling her parents about getting married. The couple gets married and after the wedding, and I'm fairly sure it was after the wedding, she gets pregnant and they have a baby boy that they name feather. The couple lives in a cabin in the woods. I think the couple were hippies and they had problems getting along after the baby was born. I also think the wife went to a class at the local hospital and made a friend there who she had lunch with at the hospital. I feel guilty about asking, but I'm desperately trying to find the title of this book. I've tried everything..Posting on different sites, Asking at my local library, Google searches. All I get are results with the first part last by Angela Johnson. I have that book. This book I'm looking for is older. I'd be extremely grateful for any he!P. Or even a response of any kind. Again, love the blog!
